About our Name
It's simple, really. The 20 just represents our demographic... twentysomethings.
That's it until we come up with a "better" name.
More About our Demographic
We are one of the only Life Groups at Grace Point Church comprised of only twentysomthings. There are singles and married couples in the group. Some are in college. New as well as lifelong believers will easily adapt to the group format and study topics.
Our Group's Focus
Our group strives to be an authentic, organic community of Christ-followers where fellowship and service are natural and the study of God's truth is relevant and purposeful.
Our Ground Rules
We all agree to follow the ground rules:
Priority: While we are in this group, we will give the group meetings priority.
Participation: Everyone is encouraged to participate and no one dominates.
Respect: Everyone is given the right to his or her own opinions, and all questions are encouraged and respected.
Confidentiality: Anything that is said in our meetings is never repeated outside the meeting without permission.
Life Change: We will regularly assess our progress toward becoming an authentic community. We will complete any “Taking it Home” activities to reinforce what we are learning and better integrate those lessons into our lives.
Care and Support: Permission is given to call upon each other at any time, especially in times of crisis. The group
will provide care for every member.
Accountability: We agree to let the members of our group hold us accountable to commitments we make in
whatever loving ways we decide upon. Unsolicited advice giving is not permitted.
Empty Chair: Our group will work together to fill the empty chair. This includes inviting new people to join as well
as encouraging those who may have been absent to join us at our next meeting. The group ultimately seeks to grow
so as to form new groups.
Ministry: We will encourage one another to volunteer and serve in a ministry, and to support missions work by
giving financially and/or personally serving.
Examples of What We Do
- Weekly group Bible study; read about our current study
- Service projects; for example: Habitat for Humanity, Under the Bridge Homeless Ministry, maintenance at the
Church, and helping out other life group members with yard work
- Just hang out and share life together!
